Five Festive Drink Ideas That Are Non-Alcoholic

A table is set with non-alcoholic eggnog and chocolate cookies.
Non-alcoholic holiday drinks can help make you feel festive—without a hangover the next morning.

Club soda with a twist of lime is a solid go-to drink.

It’s bubbly and seems more like a night out than tap water—without all the empty calories of soda. (We’ll leave the beer bellies to those who actually drink beer, thank you.)

But it’s the holidays—a worthy time to indulge in our beverages a bit. Here are five worth trying.

Cranberry Sparkler

This Martha Stewart creation is a refreshing mix of white cranberry juice, blackberry puree and sparkling water. Unless you can find the puree in your market, you’ll need to buy a pint of blackberries and throw them in a food processor, but you’ll appreciate the extra effort when you sip this bubbly concoction.

Non-Alcoholic Eggnog (a Classic Christmas Cocktail)

This recipe, courtesy of the food blog A Sweet Pea Chef, is super rich and super yummy. We suggest sipping it slowly while sitting by the fire and watching your favorite Christmas movie. If you’d like to lighten it up or turn it into an eggnog latte, you’ll also find links to those recipes on the blog.

Grinch Punch

This concoction might be a little sweet for adults, but if you want to be the most-adored adult in the room, prepare a batch and read “How the Grinch Stole Christmas!” to the littles at your holiday gathering. This recipe is courtesy of the food blog Simplistically Living, where you can also find these amazing Grinch Cookies.

Peppermint Patty Coffee

This drink is the perfect pick-me-up for a holiday party—or just an ordinary afternoon at home. You could even bring the necessary ingredients to work and delight your co-workers. Courtesy of the food blog Genius Kitchen, this recipe uses powdered cocoa mix, peppermint extract, milk and sugar to spruce up an ordinary cup of Joe (though you could always skip the sugar or use Splenda).

Crimson Christmas Punch

As rosy as Rudolph’s nose, this delish drink is made with punch, pineapple juice, cranberry juice, lemon juice, ginger ale and, or course, sherbet. It’s courtesy of the food blog Dessert Now Dinner Later, which also tempts us with this Sparking Apple Cider.
