Sober Living
For those clients who are not able to go back to their former residence upon completion of their initial Residential Treatment program, The Raleigh House of Hope offers a co-ed Sober Living option. This is an opportunity to live in a safe and home-like setting which is structured to reinforce a sober, balanced lifestyle through organized guidelines coupled with client accountability.
Typically, a sober living house is monitored by a “house manager,” usually this is one of the house members who either has been in the house for the longest period of time and/or the individual voted into the house manager position by the other house clients. One can obviously understand the disadvantages to this loose structure and can also imagine how the proper recovery care can and will fall between the cracks.
In sober living environment at The Raleigh House of Hope, clients live in a drug recovery house with other sober clients and are supervised by our trained and highly qualified staff. At The Raleigh House of Hope, our sober living environment residents participate in 12-Step meetings, the Intensive Outpatient Program, and required to undergo random drug and alcohol tests and observe a strict curfew. In addition, the residents provide a support structure for one another; gain new friendships in sobriety; and return to a safe, sober home at night. Our Sober Living participants are allowed to return to school, work, or participate in volunteer work.
